A animation charting the origins of the parachute, commissioned by the Imperial War Museum. The film can be seen at Airborne Assault, the Regimental Museum of The Parachute Regiment at Airspace IWM Duxford.
Researching the history of the parachute proved to almost as challenging as boiling it all down to 4 minutes. There were so many differing accounts of who invented what, and when, that I could have made a 8 part miniseries.
Hand colouring & restoration of some pretty ropey source material, combined with 3D animation and 2D motion graphics.
